THE SCENIC RIM
We took a drive out through the Scenic Rim. We took the turn off the Warwick road towards Boonah. Only spent two hours in Boonah so will have to go back as it has grown substantially since we were last there. The next place we stopped was Templin.
Templin Historical Village situated on Boonah-Fassifern Road, Templin, contains an interesting collection of relics and records from yesteryear. Step back in time, learn about our forbears lifestyles and cultures. Thousands of artefacts, memorabilia, photographs, newspapers etc.
Open: Sunday 9.30am – 1.30pm. Other times by appointment.
Moving onto Kalbar (Englesburg). This place just oozes history. From the 1900 Royal Hotel to the 1890 Wiss Cottage. The Wiss brother opened a General Store in 1890. The district thrived so they moved the store and built the Emporium in 1909.
